Vision Testing
The core eye test we provide at Parker & Hammond is separated into two parts:
HEALTH – This relates to the medical condition of your eyes and whether there are any underlying problems.
FOCUS – Checking the accuracy of your focusing, muscle balance and coordination, which is determined by how well the mechanics of your eyes work.
The health and focus of your eyes are not necessarily linked, but our core test delivers insights into the state of each and enables us to determine how to improve their overall working condition.
As with any medical testing, the earlier any issues are detected, the more effective the treatment will be. For this reason, we encourage our patients to see us at regular intervals, depending upon your needs.

While vision testing is our core service, it is anything but basic. We’re committed to providing all patients with comprehensive – and comprehensible – care, so we’ve embraced the latest digital technology to help us deliver the best possible tests and easy-to-understand results.
So, although our tests will be familiar, we use versatile tools such as digital lenses and computerised test charts in our eye examinations. This makes them adaptable to our patients, allowing us to provide a personalised service and explain the results more effectively. Where barriers with language or age might cause difficulties elsewhere, our technology use means that information and advice can be delivered with clarity.
