Visual Field Testing
Examining your visual field is an important part of testing the overall condition of your eyes, as it tells us how much of the world you can see in a glance.
Subtle changes to your field are difficult to notice, and often go undetected in day-to-day life.
The visual field test carried out by our expert optometrist works by assessing the integrity of your optic nerve, and determining whether there are any signs of damage that can be caused by high eye pressure or poor blood supply. The examination can also reveal underlying neurological disorders – including tumours, strokes and aneurysms – so this is a test we recommend if you suffer with headaches.
Providing you with an in-depth insight into your eye health.
The health of our patients is our priority, which is why we have invested in a hospital-standard visual field analyser to offer the highest level of insight possible. By enabling us to detect and monitor problems without the need for immediate clinical referral, we are able to work in collaboration with local hospitals and consultants when patients require this specialist testing.
We provide second opinions on a private basis for DVLA visual field testing. Our specialist equipment has been approved by the authority for carrying out the Esterman test, as required by the DVLA to check your binocular visual field.
